the alpha course
At Stroudwater we offer the Alpha Course at different times throughout our church calendar. We just completed our most recent course and will post here when we have set the date for our next Alpha!. Please read below about what Alpha is all about.
Alpha is a worldwide phenomenon. It’s found in over 169 countries. It’s run in tens of thousands of schools, prisons, homes and churches of all denominations. It’s given more than 18 million people the opportunity to explore the meaning of life. We are in our 5th year of runnng The Alpha Course here at Stroudwater.
The Alpha course covers the basics of Christianity. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, and Why did he die? The Alpha course usually lasts 10 - 12 weeks, with a day or weekend event in the middle. Each week, we meet for about two hours and share an informal meal, listen to a talk on how Christianity approaches the question at hand, then gather into small groups for discussion.
